Ventuno is on Hickson Road in Walsh Bay, among the wharves and theatres of the arts precinct, with tables outside on the water and a warmer room behind them.
The kitchen runs a wood-fired oven, makes its own pasta and puts out seasonal antipasti — Italian cooking without ceremony. It suits a pre-theatre table as well as a group settling in for the night.
Between 7.30 and 9, Sunday to Friday, house wines are $12 and Sydney Brewery Lager starts at $9 — reason enough to stay past dessert. Weekday lunch regulars collect stamps on the Ritorno card.
Hours move through the week: Monday and Tuesday, midday to 3 then 5 to 9; Wednesday straight through, 11.30 to 9; Thursday and Friday, midday to 3 then 5.30 to 9; Saturday 11.30 to 9.30; Sunday midday to 9.

Group dining
Groups of 11 to 40 choose between the classic and premium banquet sharing menus. Menus can change without notice. A 10% gratuity is added to the bill, and a 10% surcharge applies on Saturdays and Sundays.

Ventuno takes up to 100 guests seated or 130 for a cocktail party, across the terrace and the dining room. The private dining room next door seats 60 or holds 90 standing.
Getting here
Ventuno is at 7/21 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay, about ten minutes on foot from the city centre and close to Circular Quay and Barangaroo. The private dining room is next door, at 8/21 Hickson Road.
There is metered street parking at the door and secure parking stations a short walk away. Buses and trains connect through Circular Quay, and water taxis can drop at Walsh Bay.
